Gardaí called to incident on train after Leitrim final

Gardaí were called following a disturbance on the 7.19pm train service from Dublin to Sligo on Saturday evening.

It’s understood a large group were engaging in anti-social behaviour, pulling the emergency cord and stopping the train a number of times.

Gardaí were eventually called to Edgeworthstown station, where after a lengthy stoppage, cautions were given to passengers on board.

The train had already been delayed following Leitrim’s appearance in the Division 4 gaelic football final in Croke Park earlier that evening, and was 109 minutes late arriving at it’s final destination.
