Sligo LGFA minor footballers suffered their first defeat in the round-robin stage of the Connacht Championship on Wednesday evening after a 5-9 to 1-2 loss to Mayo in Swinford.
It was a below-par performance by the Yeats County but with two wins from three, they can still reach the provincial ‘A’ final they beat Roscommon in their concluding group game next Wednesday.
Galway beat Roscommon by in the evening’s other match.
