The Tara Hotel in Killybegs has been sold.
The premises is set to continue as a hotel with existing staff.
In statement on social media last night, outgoing owners John Paul and Breege McGuinness said the hotel ‘holds a special place in their hearts.’
They said that as the hotel approaches its 20th anniversary and with a mixture of pride and nostalgia, they have decided that the time has come for them to pass the baton to a new owner and embark on a new chapter.
Robert Lynch is the new owner and in a social media post said the plan is for further enhancements and the commitment to providing the same level of service for the local area.
Reassurances have been given that the hotel remains open for business and will continue to function as a hotel which the new owner Robert Lynch believes that accommodation is essential to Killybegs and the area.
