Sports clubs in the North West are to share almost two million euro in funding under the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme.
It’s part of a nationwide funding announcement of over €26m in equipment grants to sporting organisations.
Donegal is set to get the biggest share.
Clubs in Sligo are to share half a million euro and among the highlights include 50,000 for Sligo Irish Surfing Association and over 32 thousand euro for Sligo Connacht Athletics Sports.
Meanwhile clubs in County Leitrim are set to share €183,000 for equipment.
Among the local highlights there include €35,000 for Drumkeerin handball sport and leisure ltd and over €12,400 for the Beepark Resource Centre Community Sports Hub.
Donegal is to get €1.32 million and include over 71 thousand for Donegal Bay Rowing Club and over 44 thousand for Killybegs Rowing Club.
Over 900 sports groups were successful in their applications for various types of equipment which will be of practical benefit to multiple sports organisations, their members, and athletes across Ireland.
