Leitrim followed Sligo’s lead in making a winning start to this year’s Tailteann Cup on Saturday, with a 0-17 to 0-12 Group 1 victory over Waterford in Ballinamore.
With games to come against Kildare and Tipperary, Andy Moran would have identified the Waterford game as a must-win fixture – and his players duly delivered, with a five-point victory.
