Uisce Eireann urged to take charge of Sligo treatment plants



Uisce Éireann will be asked by Sligo County Council to take charge of temporary wastewater treatment plants that were initially put in place during the building boom.

 

The plants, which were initially temporary measures, have been in place for over twenty years in some instances.

 

It’s understood that this is becoming a safety issue in both urban and rural areas of Sligo.

 

Speaking to Ocean FM News, Cathaoirleach of Sligo County Council, Gerard Mullaney, urged Uisce Eireann to take charge of the matter:
