There are fears that the realignment of the N16 in Leitrim could face further delays.
It’s understood that the stretch of land between Glenfarne and Manorhamilton earmarked for the next phase of the project is softer than first anticipated, which will increase the cost of the project.
This in turn will take it beyond the TII’s threshold, raising concerns about where the money to finish the project will come from.
