Sligo City Hall raises flag of Palestine

In light of the government’s statement recognising the State of Palestine, the flag of Palestine has been raised at Sligo City Hall.

The violence seen in Gaza has long been condemned across Irish politics, with many local authorities calling on an immediate ceasefire.

The raising of the flag is aimed to show solidarity with Palestine, amid hopes of a peaceful resolution to the conflict.

On Wednesday May 22nd, Taoiseach Simon Harris said “a two state solution is the only way out of generational violence.”
