Three Fianna Fáil candidates set to battle for two Ballymote-Tubbercurry seats



The fight is on between three Fianna Fáil candidates for the final two seats in the seven seat Ballymote-Tubbercurry electoral area.

That’s according to tally figures completed for that electoral area.

Liam Brennan, Barry Gallagher and Keith Henry are all in the hunt.

Liam Brennan has tallied 1,281 first preference votes, Barry Gallagher is on 1,228 and Henry, a former councillor is on 1,054.

Fellow Fianna Fáil candidate Paul Taylor, meanwhile looks set to top the poll.

Taylor, who was first elected in 2014 tallied first preference total is 1,908 votes.

He’s expected to be followed by Gerard Mullaney of Fine Gael, who is on 1,711 first preference votes.

Fellow Fine Gael candidate Dara Mulvey is on 1,653.

Two west Sligo, non-party candidates Joe Queenan and Michael Clarke on 1,505 and 1,756 votes respectively.

Outgoing Fine Gael Councillor Martin Connolly sits on 1,112 first preference votes.
