Cosgrove edges closer to election in Sligo-Strandhill



Nessa Cosgrove has edged closer to being elected in the Sligo-Strandhill electoral area.

No candidate elected following the third count at The Sligo Park Hotel.

None of the remaining candidates reached the quota of 1,188.

Distributing of Tom MacSharry’s votes have seen an increase of Labour Party candidate’s Cosgrove vote to 932.

Solidarity People Before Profit candidate Gino O’Boyle received 33 votes which increases his total to 848.

While Arthur Gibbons of Sinn Féin has received 14 votes bringing his total to 804.

The third count also saw the elimination of Diarmuid MacConville and Jim Lawlor.
