New Cathaoirleachs announced in Sligo, Leitrim & Donegal



A number of new Cathaoirleachs have been announced in the northwest following Municipal District Annual General Meetings.

 

In the Manorhamilton Municipal District Fianna Fail Cllr Mary Bohan was elected Cathaoirleach, with new Independent Cllr Eddie Mitchell selected as Leas Cathaoirleach.

 

In the Donegal Town MD, Sinn Fein Cllr Noel Jordan was elected as Cathaoirleach, with Fianna Fáil Cllr Michael Naughton becoming the new Leas Cathaoirleach.

 

In the Sligo-Drumcliffe local electoral area, Fianna Fail Cllr Dónal Gilroy was elected Cathaoirleach, with Independent Cllr Marie Casserly chosen as Leas Cathaoirleach.

 

Finally, in the Ballymote-Tubbercurry MD, Independent Cllr Joe Queenan was elected Cathaoirleach, and Fine Gael Cllr Gerard Mullaney announced as leas Cathaoirleach.

 

The Sligo borough district will be having their meeting on Monday to decide the positions.
