A motorist was arrested for driving under the influence following a checkpoint by the Leitrim Roads Policing Unit in Manorhamilton.
The driver stopped at a MIT (Mandatory Intoxicant testing) checkpoint and was found to be under the influence of an intoxicant.
Following this, the driver will receive a 6 months disqualification and a €400 fine. The car was also seized.
Gardai are reminding road users to never drive and be under the influence of alcohol and or drugs.
