A man has been arrested in connection with a serious assault in the Ballyshannon area last year.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
The assault happened outside a filling station on the Donegal/Fermanagh border on May 6th 2023.
The victim sustained serious facial injuries during the altercation and was taken to Sligo University hospital for further treatment.
Gardaí have confirmed that they arrested a man this week as part of the investigation.
The suspect was subsequently questioned by investigating Gardaí.
The man who’s in his 40s has since been charged and appeared before Tubbercurry District Court on Wednesday morning.
A file is now being prepared for the DPP.
