Silver Spirit cruise ship makes two stops in Donegal

The Silver Spirit cruise ship has docked in Donegal.

The ship has made stops in Greencastle and Killybegs as part of it’s 12-day journey.

The cruise ship, which is 210.7 metres in length, made it’s first stop in Greencastle on Saturday, July 20th. It anchored there at 8.30am and set off again at 7pm that evening.

The 12-day voyage began in Iceland, departing from the capital Reykjavik and sailing all around the island, before heading for Ireland’s north-west coast.

Following two stops in Donegal, the cruise ship will also dock in Galway and Bantry, Co. Cork, before eventually reaching its final destination of Southampton in the UK.

Silver Spirit was built in 2009 and underwent a complete refurbishment including a 15-metre extension added in 2018, increasing capacity to 608 guests and 411 crew.

The ship is due to make a second call to Greencastle this year on 14th September.
