The late Very Reverend Fr. Dominic Gillooly will be laid to rest later on today.
His death was announced earlier this week.
Fr. Gillooly served the local community for 41 years.
He retired in 2015 but remained on at St. Anne’s serving as curate.
In a statement issued following his passing, St. Anne’s Church said that Fr. Gillooly served the community with devotion and love for over four decades.
They also thanked all who were so caring of him in the parish and for the exceptional care he received in Sligo University Hospital in the last five weeks.
A requiem mass for Fr. Gillooly gets underway at 12 noon today in St Anne’s Church, Cranmore Road, Sligo, with burial following afterwards in St Patrick’s Cemetery, Scarden, Strandhill Road, Sligo.
