Questions remain over neurology cover at Letterkenny University Hospital

Questions remain over inadequate neurology cover at Letterkenny University Hospital.

Earlier this year, the Neurological Alliance of Ireland launched a support campaign targeting elected representatives on the matter.

It’s estimated that the waiting time for a first-time appointment to see the neurologist at the facility is around 18 months.

As a result, many have been forced to seek appointments in Sligo, with additional travel times adding further burden to patients.

Mags Rogers, Executive Director of the NAI, says this is not a once-off issue and more needs to be done to help those affected.
