European Commission opens legal proceedings against Government over Mica

It’s reported that the European Commission has opened legal proceedings against the government over alleged failures in construction, which includes mica.

The Currency is reporting that last week, the body sent a letter of formal notice for failure to comply with requirements under the construction products regulation.

Member states are required to monitor how construction products are manufactured and put on the market before their used.

It is believed that the government have two months to send a detailed reply addressing the discrepancies.

Long-time mica campaigner and an affected homeowner, Paddy Diver says the homeowners have done no wrong.
