Dangerous junctions on N17 continue to cause concern

Road safety works along the N17 continue to cause concern.

The road is known for its treacherous state, with a number of issues raised surrounding dangerous junctions along the route.

It’s widely thought that a new road layout is needed where the road from Bunnacrannagh and Curry Village meet at the junction onto the N17.

Sligo County Council met with Transport Infrastructure Ireland road safety engineers, and following discussions it was deemed possible to deliver a Road Safety Improvement Scheme at the location by the end of 2025.

Fianna Fail Cllr Barry Gallagher says there’s too many dangerous junctions along the main road.
