According to the latest figures from the CSO, Sligo saw the largest percentage decrease nationwide in the number of persons on the Live Register in the 12 months to July 2024.
Locally the percentage lowered by 11.9%, to 2,462, while Donegal recorded 8,802, and Leitrim’s count stood at 1,684.
However, Leitrim was the only county out of the three to have more women on the live register than men.
The seasonally adjusted Live Register total for July 2024 was 171,900 people, down by 100 people or 0.1% from June 2024
