Sligo Rovers cruise to FAI Cup quarter-finals



It’s taken a while but Sligo Rovers women have their first competitive win of the 2024 season following Saturday’s 5-0 home win against new Amateur Cup winner Terenure Rangers, in the Sports Direct FAI Cup.

Two first-half goals from Paula McGrory, along with strikes from fellow Donegal players Jodie & Keri Loughrey, and a fifth from Rebecca Doddy in injury-time gave Tommy Hewitt’s side a comprehensive victory against the Dubliners.

Rovers progress now to the last eight of the competition.
