Cormac Reape departs Sligo LGFA manager role

Sligo LGFA has announced that Cormac Reape has departed as manager of the county’s senior women’s football team.

A short statement issued to the media on Monday night confirmed the news.

The Mayo native leaves after two seasons in charge of the team.

He was originally appointed in March of 2023, following the departure of Anthony Brennan – and had actually been given a further two-year term at the end of last season.

However, in recent weeks, the decision was taken that Sligo LGFA and Reape would go their separate ways.

A young team in transition, Sligo found the going tough in this year’s Lidl national football league, suffering relegation from Division 3.

In the TG4 All-Ireland junior football championship, they recorded victories over London and Derry but were edged out of a place in the All-Ireland semi-finals by Carlow and eventual All-Ireland champions Fermnanagh.

The Sligo LGFA county board is already inviting expressions of interest in the senior, minor, under-16 and under-14 managerial roles for the 2025 season.

Interested Parties Can email secretary.sligo@lgfa.ie for a full role discription and application form.

The closing date for applications is Friday, August 23rd, at 5pm.
