Mickey Graham has been announced as the new Leitrim senior gaelic football manager.
The Cavan native was recommended for the role at Monday night’s meeting of the Leitrm county executive.
While the appointment has still to be formally ratified at the next county board meeting, that is expected to be a mere formality.
Graham was assistant to Andy Moran this year, prior to the Mayo man’s decision to step down from the manager’s role following Leitrim’s Tailteann Cup exit against Wicklow.
As well as boasting an impressive club managerial CV (including a Leinster club title with Mullinalaghta of Longford), Graham has plenty of intercounty managerial credentials, having managed his native Cavan for five years – a period which included an Ulster senior football title in 2020.
As a player, he was part of the Breffni team which famouly won the Anglo Celt in 1997 when Donegal’s Martin McHugh was manager.
It’s understood Graham’s appointment with Leitrim is for a three-year term.
His backroom team will be finalised in due course.
