Two North West beaches named as the best on Wild Atlantic Way

Two beaches in the North West have been included on a list of the best beaches to visit on the Wild Atlantic Way.

Silver Strand, just outside Glencolmcille in Donegal, and Enniscrone Beach in Sligo, were first and second in the list.

The poll, which was ran across the Wild Atlantic Way’s social media channels, received an overwhelming response, with Silver Strand and Enniscrone coming out on top.

The top four was completed by Dog’s Bay in Galway, and Inch Beach in Kerry.

Both beaches are known for being popular destinations for both locals and tourists to visit.

Silver Strand was seen in the recent Liam Neeson film, “In The Land of Saints and Sinners”, which was released on Netflix and was filmed throughout Spring in 2022.

While Enniscrone Beach is a popular spot for walkers and surfers alike.

Both beaches topped the poll of a number of beaches that were voted on along the Wild Atlantic Way’s 2,600km route.
