It’s emerged that a number of farmers in the north west remain out of pocket over delays to full ACRES payments.
Farmers were previously promised up to €10,500 each year for the five years of the scheme.
The Department of Agriculture previously outlined three categories of NPIs which ACRES Co-operation farmers can apply for inclusion – habitat and wildlife support, infrastructure the hand tool removal of scrub.
However, inadequate IT systems coupled with a lack of clarity has left farmers counting the costs.
