The victim of last week’s two-vehicle collision in north Sligo will be laid to rest later today.
28-year-old James McNeive died when the van he was driving collided with a lorry on the N15 shortly after 6am.
The late Mr McNeive was a native of Knock in county Mayo.
A primary school teacher, he was a prominent member of his local community and held a number of roles at his local GAA club, Aghamore both in a playing and in an administrative capacity.
In a Facebook post following his passing, Aghamore GAA said James always had time and support for everyone and always took time to encourage younger players breaking into our adult teams and gave them a welcome and support that was unmatched.
A requiem mass for the late Mr. McNeive gets underway at 11am this morning in the Church of St. John the Baptist with burial afterwards in Knock Cemetery.
