A walker is recovering in hospital after suffering serious injuries after a fall at Strandhill Beach on Saturday evening.
Shortly before 5pm, the alarm was raised with Malin Head Coast Guard receiving a call from the National Ambulance requesting assistance.
The Sligo-based coast guard helicopter, Rescue 118 was tasked to the scene and landed on the beach a short time later.
With assistance of the ambulance and fire service crews, the casualty was transported to Sligo University Hospital for further treatment.
