Two of the three candidates contesting the Sligo-Leitrim Fianna Fáil convention have pulled out of the race.
Sitting councillor Paul Taylor and Keith Henry were initially selected to go forward, however, it has emerged they both will not be doing so.
That leaves one remaining candidate, councillor Edel McSharry who was elected to Sligo County Council for the first time in June’s local elections.
The Sligo-Leitrim Fianna Fáil convention takes place on Wednesday, August 28th.
In a statement issued to Ocean FM, Keith Henry says is withdrawing “having considered the matter with my family and close supporters and that I was very honored to receive nominations from across Sligo and Leitrim and thank the members for doing so.”
