Sligo’s Brian Colsh began his under-23 World Rowing Championships by winning his opening heat of the men’s double sculls on Sunday in Canada.
He and partner, Adam Murphy (Cork) qualified for the semi-finals of the men’s heavyweight double-sculls.
Colsh and Murphy qualified for the semi-finals in their heat alongside Germany and Great Britain (2nd, and 3rd place respectively).
The defence of Colsh’s championship continues in next Wednesday’s semi-final in St. Catherines.
