The county is currently preparing itself for the next general election that as things stand will take place in February of next year.
Recently it emerged that two of the three candidates contesting the Sligo-Leitrim Fianna Fáil Convention have pulled out of the race.
Sitting Councillor Paul Taylor and Keith Henry were initially selected to go forward, however, it has emerged they both will not be doing so.
That leaves one remaining candidate, Councillor, Edel McSharry who was elected to Sligo County Council for the first time in June’s local elections.
The Sligo-Leitrim Fianna Fáil convention takes place on Wednesday, August 28th.
