Labour Party Councillor urges home owners to play their part in easing student accommodation crisis

With the Atlantic Technology University now having University status the numbers attending local campuses has increased while unfortunately the level of accommodation on offer has reduced dramatically over recent years.

Sligo Cllr Nessa Cosgrove earlier joined John Lynch to discuss the situation in Sligo where accommodation is at a premium.

There has been a small uptake by local home owners when it comes to the ATU Students Union campaign ‘Rent A Room’ and the Labour Party Councillor has encouraged more to get in involved.

Also in this morning’s interview Cllr. Cosgrove confirmed that she intends to seek the party nomination to contest the next general election.
