Sligo’s Luke Bree joins Mickey Harte in Offaly



Former Sligo footballer and strength & conditioning coach Luke Bree has joined the new Offaly senior football management team of Declan Kelly and Mickey Harte for next season.

Bree, who spent the last two years with Andy Moran in Leitrim, was announced on Thursday by Offaly GAA as the county footballers new head football coach.

He works by day as a PE teacher in Summerhill College – and continues to play club football with his native Coolera/Strandhill, who begin the defence of the Owen B Hunt Cup in Sligo this weekend against Easkey.

Bree was also part of the Roscommon senior football management team in 2022 where they achieved promotion to Division 1 with a victory in the Division 2 national league final.

Prior to that,  he was head coach of the St. Vincent’s senior footballers in Dublin.

He was was involved with Vincent’s  for ten years including as a player on their All-Ireland winning team in 2014.

Former Tyrone and Louth manager, Harte who ended his reign as Derry boss after one season last month, was announced on Monday as joint manager of the Faithful County with Declan Kellyfor a three-year period.
