The 38th Warriors Run takes place in the Sligo seaside village of Strandhill this Saturday afternoon (Aug 24th).
The famous 10-mile run and climb, from the cannon in Strandhill up to the top of Knocknarea mountain – and back again – is set to attract 1200 runners and walkers to startline on Saturday.
Defending champion Seamus Somers (Sligo AC) is biddin to win the race for a third year in a row.
Another local competitor, Alan ‘Pal’ Gilmartin is going to try and complete the route twice in the one day, to raise money for a Motor Neurone Disease charity.
There will be a number of road closures in and around the Strandhill area on Saturday.
