Sligo quartet compete in World Kickboxing Championships



Collooney Kickboxers fly the flag for Ireland this week at the 2024 WAKO World Kickboxing Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

Brothers PJ and Leo Scanlon will compete in Full Contact-Low Kick division in the Ring.

Leo is the current European Bronze medallist from last year.

He was also the first Irish fighter to medal in this division.

Sisters Lucy and Halle Conlon-Oates have qualified in the Points Fighting and Light Contact Fighting disciplines.

Halle will also compete in the Kick Light discipline.

She is  the current defending World Champion (2022) and sister Lucy is a current European Bronze medalist.

The Collooney Kickboxing Club fighters are joined on the trip by club coaches Des Leonard and Aine Conlon-Oates.

Competition begins on Monday morning (Aug 26th) at 10am and all fights are being streamed on the WAKO Kickboxing YouTube channel.
