N56 at Inver expected to remain closed for much of today following serious crash

Gardai have issued a warning that the N56 at Inver remains closed this afternoon and is expected to remain so for much of the day.

They are asking all road users travelling from Donegal Town to Killybegs to go via Frosses and Ardara.

Gardai also say that there’s major traffic congestion at the Ardaghey Crossroads and this alternative route will alleviate the problem.

A man in his 50s and a woman in her 40s were taken to Letterkenny University Hospital for treatment of their injuries believed to be non life-threatening.

Gardai are continuing to appeal to witnesses to the crash to come forward.

Any road users or pedestrians who were on the N56 between 8.30am and 9am and have camera footage including dash-cam are asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.
