Sligo Yacht Club is celebrating a big success at the GP14 World Championships in Pwllheli, North Wales, after the Sligo duo of David Evans and William Draper won the Youth Fleet title for 2024.
Evans, who’s from Rosses Point, and Ballincar native Draper, won more prizes than any other crew at the event – also taking top prize in the Silver fleet.
It’s a marvellous achievement for two of Sligo Yacht Club’s up-and-coming practicioners.
The GP14 is a 14-foot one design dingy boat class.
Evans and Draper are the current Irish champions having won the national title in Newtownards in July of this year.
