IHF make assurances following Oasis price gouging controversy

The Irish Hotels Federation have moved to assure people that more rooms will become available in hotels around the country next summer.

It comes as some hotels in Dublin have allegedly cancelled bookings at put prices up, following the announcement of the Oasis reunion tour.

In a statement released to Ocean FM News this afternoon, the IHF say the vast majority of Irish hotels would have only a small amount of rooms available through third party booking engines this far out, and that this means that there is currently very limited availability on these sites, given that the dates for the concerts are almost a year away.

The statement goes on to say that more rooms will become available over the coming months.

In conclusion, the IHF are encouraging people looking to book at this stage to shop around and consider contacting hotels directly, either through their own websites or by phone, to enquire about rates and to get the best value.
