Leitrim has the lowest amount of homes commenced in the first seven months of this year.
According to figures released by the Department of Housing, construction has begun on just 50 houses in the county since the beginning of 2024.
The next lowest were 75 in Longford, and 104 in Roscommon.
From January to July this year, there were commencements on over 35,000 homes nationwide, which is a 91% increase from the same time period in 2023.
