North West motorists clocked on National Slow Down Day



National Slow Down Day officially come to an end at 7 o’clock this morning with a number of motorists caught speeding locally.

One motorist was clocked travelling at 141km per hour in a 100km zone in Letterkenny while another at 89km per hour in a 60km zone in Carrick-On-Shannon.

Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit say a number of motorists were detected speeding in a 100km/h zone.

Fixed charge penalty notice will be issued to offending drivers.

Safety chiefs are thanking motorists for their compliance, but appealing to drivers to continue to comply with speed limits all year around.
