Sligo Rovers continue to languish at the foot of the women’s SSE Airtricity League Premier Division following Saturday’s 4-0 home defeat to DLR Waves at the Showgrounds.
DLR goals from Amber Cosgrove and Keelin Dodd in the first half, followed by second-half strikes from Aisling Meehan and Shannon Coady gave the visitors all three points.
Rovers are still waiting for their first league win over the season – and are currently adrift at the bottom of the table with just three draws to date.
Tommy Hewitt’s side do have the welcome distraction of a home FAI Cup semi-final against holders Athlone Town later this month (Sept 22nd).
