Emlyn Mulligan on club championship hunt in two counties

Former Leitrim gaelic footballer star Emlyn Mulligan is bidding for club championship titles in two counties at the moment.

He’s playing his club football with St Mary’s in Sligo – they are preparing for a Group 2 match against Curry at Corran Park in Ballymote on Sunday at 5pm in the Homeland SFC  (live on Ocean FM & Sligo GAA TV).

The Kinlough native has also recently taken over as interim manager of Leitrim club side Fenagh/St Caillin’s, following the recent departure of the south Leitrim club’s father-son managerial team of Tommy and Joe McCormack.

On Saturday evening, Mulligan, who’s being assisted by current Leitrim goalkeeper Nevin O’Donnell, guided Fenagh to a one-point victory (0-9 to 0-8) over Aughawillan in their Connacht Gold SFC quarter-final in Ballinamore.

That win sets up up a semi-final meeting with defending Leitrim champions Mohill (managed by Sligo’s Eamonn OHara) in two week’s time.

Mulligan spoke to Ocean FM Sport’s PJ Leddy following Saturday night’s quarter-final win against Aughawillan.
