Another Sligo restaurant set to close

Another Sligo restaurant is set to close.

Bridgefoot House, located on O’Connell Street has been in business for five years.

In a statement, the owners say that rising costs has led to the decision not to extend their lease.

They say that rising running costs and the return of 13.5% VAT rate has made it very difficult for independent food businesses to thrive.

The restaurants last day of service will be Sunday 29th of September.

The statement on social media continues:

Since 2019, we’ve had the privilege of serving the people of Sligo and beyond, sharing our passion for local, fresh and sustainable ingredients.

We’re incredibly grateful for every guest who walked through our doors, every meal shared, and every smile exchanged. Your support has meant the world to us.

To our family & friends thank you for all your support, effort and patience as we worked tirelessly over the past 5 years creating something new for Sligo.

To our suppliers, your dedication to providing us the highest quality, fresh ingredients has been invaluable. Thank you !

Most importantly, our team. This journey wouldn’t be possible without you. Always hard working and passionate, without you none of this would have been possible. We wish you the best in your future endeavours.

We do encourage any current gift card holders to redeem over the coming weeks, as we would like to honour them before we close our doors.

Regular service will continue until the 29th of September and we look forward to seeing you all once again for a final meal with us.

Thank you for being part of our journey,

Alan, Paul & Team.
