Dundalk crisis puts league fixture with Sligo Rovers in doubt

Dundalk’s future remains in the balance as the club enters what is described as a ‘critical’ 24 hours.

Significant financial difficulties have come to light in recent weeks, with payment of staff wages delayed last week.

Owner Brian Ainscough is attempting to secure investment to help the club reach the end of the season.

A club statement last night said efforts are continuing to improve the financial situation.

The Oriel Park club are due to come to the Showgrounds this Saturday night to play Sligo Rovers in an SSE Airtricity League Premier Division game.

Dundalk are currently bottom of the table with six league matches remaining.
