Criticism of delay into Ballisodare fish kill knocked back

Inland Fisheries Ireland have confirmed that no pollution incident led to the deaths of nearly 1 thousand 100 adult salmon in the Ballisodare River.

Following an extensive investigation, the IFI and other parties have identified a number of factors that may have been involved.

A report into the investigation was published yesterday with 1 thousand and 79 deaths recorded from June 28th until July 21st.

Despite criticism in some quarters over the delay in publishing the report, Deputy CEO of Inland Fisheries Ireland, Barry Fox says these investigations take time.
