A local GP practice has been named Rural Practice of the Year.
Earlier this month, at the GP Buddy Awards, Dr Helen Fitzsimons of the Gurteen Family Practice, Sligo, won the prestigious award.
But for many years, Dr. Fitzsimons and her staff have been calling on the HSE to provide the necessary funding to get some much needed upgraded works carried out to the building.
