Drug strategy funding announced for Northwest

€300,000 in funding has been allocated to the North and Northwest to support people in recovery from drug addiction.

Minister for Public Health, Wellbeing and the National Drugs Strategy, Colm Burke, revealed the funding today, which is part of a €2.3 million nationwide rollout.

It’s part of the national drug strategy to sustain community based drug services and support those fighting drug dependency.

Minister Burke says he recognises “recovery is a process that often takes time to achieve and effort to maintain” and that the funding will continue to strengthen the quality of care locally.
