Tony McEntee extends Sligo stay

Tony McEntee is staying on as Sligo senior gaelic football manager for two more years.

The Crossmaglen native has completed four years in charge of the Yeats County – during which time he led the team to a Division 4 league title (2023) and two Tailteann Cup semi-finals (2022 & 2024).

Sligo consolidated their position in Division 3 this season – and will be looking to push towards promotion in the New Year.

McEntee has indicated that there will be changes to his backroom team for 2025.

Details will be announced in the coming weeks.

Carlow native Stephen Shiel has been re-appointed as Sligo senior hurling manager for next year.

The other main county managerial appointments remain unchanged.

Curry’s Paul Henry remains as Sligo U20 football manager for next season – with Barry Keenan remaining as county U20 hurling boss.
