House prices on the rise across North West



The average price of three-bed semi houses has gone up right across the North West.

A new survey from the Real Estate Alliance has been examining the figures.

Donegal saw the highest increase of the three North West counties, with prices jumping up 3% from €165,000 to €170,000 in the last three months.

According to the survey, here is strong demand from Northern Ireland purchasers for both permanent residences and holiday homes in Donegal, where prices have increased by 2.7% to €190,000 in the past quarter.

Leitrim had the next highest increase, with prices going up from €189,500 to €194,000 in the same time period. That is an increase of 2.4%.

Prices in Carrick-on-Shannon rose by 1.8% this quarter to €228,000, while Carrigallen prices increased by 3.2% to €160,000.

In Sligo, prices rose by 2.2%, up from €227,000 to €232,500.

In Sligo town, prices this quarter rose by 1.8% to an average of €280,000, and prices in Tubbercurry increased to €185,000, up 2.8%.

Further afield, large towns such as Ennis, Tralee, Tullamore and Athlone have experienced average increases of €20,000 in the past three months.

Actual selling prices in Dublin city rose by 1.3% in the last three months, and the average three-bed semi in the capital is now selling at €532,333 – an annual increase of 7.4%.
