Irish Rail staff member attacked on Sligo-Connolly service



An investigation is continuing after an Irish Rail staff member was attacked on the Sligo – Connolly service.

 

The alleged assault happened in Connolly train station just before the train left for Sligo on Saturday night last.

 

The victim, who is understood to be from Sligo originally, suffered a number of minor injuries.

 

A man in his 30s was arrested and has since been charged.

 

Local People before Profit Cllr Gino O’Boyle says the amount of anti-social behaviour has reach an alarming level, and has renewed calls for a dedicated policing service for the train service:
