Two men have been arrested following a weekend incident involving an imitation firearm in Sligo town.
The alarm was raised on Saturday afternoon following reports of the pair being in possession of a firearm in the town centre area.
Gardaí attended the scene and seized the suspected imitation firearm and arrested two men.
Both men have since been released and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
The firearm has also been sent for further technical examination.
Gardai say that investigations are ongoing.
