Calls for investigation into staffing levels at Mowlam Nursing Home



There are calls for a further investigation into the staffing levels at Mowlam Nursing Home in Sligo.

 

A scathing HIQA report released yesterday detailed several issues of noncompliance at the centre in Ballytivnan, found during an unannounced inspection in April.

 

Dirty floors and carpets, a foul smell coming from the toilets and ironically, the cleaners’ trolleys visibly unclean were just some of the harrowing details in the report.

 

Residents also informed the inspectors that they often have to wait for staff to help and support them as ”they are very busy”.

 

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time that the nursing home has come under fire, with several previous inspections highlighting issues of concern.
